Here in the northern Maine woods we are knee deep in the snows of winter. But mother nature gave us a reprieve this week to allow us time to clean up from the last brutal blizzard, in preparation of the next to come. That’s the circle of winter life up here.

We had some frigid below zero temps though, which means pipes often freeze and that can wreak some havoc. But it also means our lake has frozen over and it becomes dotted with temporary fishing houses, with a constant hum of snowmobiles across an ever shifting mass of ice that goes on for miles.

But, I’m not really a “spend the day outside on the ice in below zero temps” kind of gal. I prefer to cozy up under my heated blanket in my comfy chair next to my propane stove, with a few good books.

So, it’s a good thing it’s February and new book fairs are posted. I just filled up my digital reader with enough titles to make excuses to not step foot outside unless absolutely necessary. Enjoy this month’s supernatural, paranormal, and fantasy book collections!
